Fasil Bizuneh attended Arizona State University where he was a 4-time All-American and 3-time Pac-10 Runner Up. He was the top American at the 1999 World Jr. Cross Country Championships placing 24th. As a post-collegiate, Bizuneh spent 3 years working in the post-collegiate developmental program, Team USA Monterey. It wasn’t until 3 years later in 2006 that he reaped the benefits of the increased mileage and hard work. He has been running professionally for New Balance ever since. Bizuneh recorded the 5th fastest American 10,000m track times in both 2008 (27:50) and 2009 (28:00). Although consistently competitive in US road championships at a variety of distances, his ultimate goal of marathon success has thus far eluded him. He began working with Greg McMillan and Team USA Arizona in July 2010. Working with such an accomplished coach and marathon-training group will the missing piece that will ultimately lead to marathon success.
